Social Housing

Social housing is a form of housing tenure in which the property is owned by a government authority, which may be central or local.

Local authorities (or housing authorities) are the main providers of social housing for people who cannot afford their own accommodation. Local authority housing is allocated according to eligibility and need.

Rents are calculated on the household’s ability to pay.

Based on your current circumstances we can provide the information, if you are eligible to apply for social housing support. If you are, we can also assist you with completion of the social housing application form.

Once your application is accepted you will be placed on a waiting list. Any person who is on a waiting list for social housing may be eligible for Housing Assistance Payment (HAP).

If you are a tenant in social housing already and if you would like to become its owner you may be eligible to purchase the dwelling under Rebuilding Ireland Home Loan or 2016 Incremental Tenant Purchase Scheme. For further information contact us.
